Job Description:
Position Information Under the direction of the Early Academic
Outreach Program (EAOP) Director, the incumbent is responsible for
all aspects of data management and reporting for the Early Academic
Outreach Program (EAOP) (100%), including the following key
responsibilities. Based on data analysis and reporting, the
incumbent is responsible for making recommendations to EAOP staff
and management, as well as school administrators, regarding program
status, including but not limited to student participation and
academics, event attendance, and demographics. Occasional travel is
required. The incumbent will work occasional weekends (Saturday and
Sunday) and evenings to assist as needed with EAOP events. The full
salary range for the Data Specialist position is $56,000 - $96,400
annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up
to $61,050 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of
considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications,
experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants
must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff
position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over
sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University
employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable
University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may
be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government
directives may impose additional requirements. Education Education
Requirements Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent
experience/training. (Required) Experience Requirements 4 - 7 years
of related experience. (Required) Minimum Requirements Working
knowledge of database management systems and standards. Strong
knowledge and experience working with educational equity programs
serving a diverse student population. Significant experience
advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged students
regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers. Knowledge of
youth and adolescent development theory, including issues facing
low-income, first generation urban youth. Strong knowledge of high
school graduation and college entrance requirements. Strong
communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to establish and maintains cooperative relationships with
school district administrators, school counselors, principals,
teachers, and community contacts. Demonstrated cultural competency
with respect to race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status. Strong
knowledge of up-to-date information on K-12 and higher education
policies and issues. Ability to assess their impact on program
strategies. Knowledge of K-12 and higher education institutions
(UC, CSU, CC, etc.), admissions and financial aid requirements, and
the ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth, parents,
and school representatives. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in
SQL is essential experience with querying, manipulating, and
managing data within databases. Understanding of data security
principles, implementing security measures, and managing user
database access. Knowledge of backup creation, recovery procedures,
and managing disaster recovery scenarios. Understanding of database
design principles, data modeling, and normalization. Excellent
problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
