SUMMARY As a Manufacturing Engineer at Precision One Medical, you will be responsible for supporting tasks related to the design, development, and implementation of machining processes for new product. The Manufacturing Engineer will additionally focus on optimizing existing machining processes and supporting R&D tasks through the Technical Center. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support efforts to develop and maintain the Technical Center, a small but critical R&D team dedicated to the long-term growth of all manufacturing efforts at Precision One Medical (P1). Support the P1 Technical Center to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes for both new and existing products. Review customer blueprints/specifications for prototyping or production and participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) evaluations. Create process drawings, fixtures, routers, bill of materials (BOM's), standard operating procedures (SOP's), and any additional material required for manufacturing. Participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) or risk mitigation strategies. Contribute manufacturing knowledge to develop and/or execute process validation efforts (IQ, OQ, PQ). Support manufacturing projects and relevant testing efforts for internal and external customers. Contribute to optimization of machining processes with consideration to machining sequence, tooling, material, etc. Participate in all communications with customers. Work with outside suppliers of equipment and tooling as required. Communicate statuses and updates to manufacturing team for all assigned projects/tasks. Take initiative to identify areas for department and professional self-development. Define path and execute. Evolve into a technical resource and leader. Perform other duties as required Adhere with the company's Quality Management System to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Special assignments as directed by supervision commensurate with experience. Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position. Advanced or working knowledge of SolidWorks. Have experience with using MRP/ERP system. Must have sharp attention to detail and the ability to exercise independent judgment. Must have good project management and communication skills. Must have the ability to deal with frequent changes or delays. Must possess familiarity using measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and toolmaker microscopes. Communicates and works well with employees of all positions. Ability to multitask and support multiple projects concurrently. Ability to work extended hours when required. Ability to perform under pressure, while treating others with respect and consideration. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 4 year degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field. 2-5 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer in the dental/medical industry; swiss-turn machine experience recommended. Experience working with internal and external customers. Experience as a machinist or operator in the medical field is a huge advantage. Automotive or aerospace machining experience may substitute for medical experience. Previous experience with swiss screw machines is preferred.
