COMPENSATION Assistant Engineer $6,505-$8,712 monthly $78,060-
$104,544 annual Associate Engineer $7,739-$10,218 monthly
$92,868-$122,616 annual $1.73 per hour certification pay for
Professional Engineer registration The City of Oceanside is
accepting applications for the position of Assistant/Associate
Engineer in Development Services. This position will be assigned to
Capital Improvement Program (CIP). This will be filled at an
Assistant or Associate level, depending on qualifications. The CIP
position oversees entitlements and development as it relates to
City infrastructure as well as manages the design, construction,
and budget of capital improvement projects. The position is part of
a management team responsible for projects in the TransNet,
Thoroughfare, Drainage, Parks, Municipal Buildings, Miscellaneous
City Capital, Citywide Drainage, Grants, SB-1, Streets-Gas Tax, and
Thoroughfare Signal Programs having a Fiscal Year 18/19 Budget of
approximately $51 million. Example of projects are: bridge
retrofit, bridge replacement, drainage basins, bike and pedestrian
trails, fiber optic installations, pavement restoration and
preservation, roadway and drainage upgrades, parks and restrooms,
fire training facilities, tenant improvements, building backup
power systems, undergrounding utilities, and an aquatic center.
Experience and Training - Assistant Engineer Experience: Two years
of increasingly responsible civil engineering experience or
landscape architecture experience. Training: Equivalent to a
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with
major course work in civil engineering or a related field. License
or Certificate:
- Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license.
- Possession of an Engineer-In-Training Certificate is highly
desirable. Experience and Training - Associate Engineer Experience
: Four years of increasingly responsible experience in civil
engineering. Training : A Bachelor's degree from an accredited
college or university with major course work in civil engineering
or a related field. License/Certificate:
- Possession of an Engineer-In-Training Certificate from the
California State Board of Registration for Professional
Engineers.
- Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license. Note:
Registration by the California State Board of Registration for
Professional Engineers (PE) is highly desirable.

Associate Engineer - Development Services Opportunity Looking for
the next step in your engineering career? Come join the City of
Oceanside's Development Services Department. The City is currently
seeking qualified candidates for a brand new position in the
Engineering Division of the Development Services Department. The
position will be assigned to both the Land Development and Capital
Improvement Projects divisions and will oversee a team of Public
Works Inspectors. A strong background in construction management is
highly desirable. The Associate Engineer assigned to this position
should possess design and construction management skills associated
with on-site grading, street, storm drain, parks, sidewalk, curb
and gutter improvements. Project management abilities are highly
desirable. Building design, construction and public facilities
experience is a plus. The Associate Engineer position oversees
construction as it relates to land development and City
infrastructure as well as assists with the management of
construction, and budgets for capital improvement projects. This
position is part of a management team responsible for projects in

Division is responsible for the management of public infrastructure
and private land development. This division administers all aspects
of engineering and inspection activities relating to Private
Development, Capital Improvement Programs (CIP) and traffic-related
issues. The Engineering Division is responsible for the City's
engineering review of all public and private sector development
projects, preparing and maintaining documentation and records of
all activity, and providing information to the public. For more
