journey!Position: Sr Analytics/Data EngineerThe Senior Analytics
Engineer generally works independently under general supervision
and follows company and department policies and procedures to lead
the design and execution of advanced data pipelines, reports, and
visualizations. Collaborates with stakeholders, mentors junior team
members, and drives data governance and process improvements.
Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) within specialized
department functions.Primary Responsibilities:
- Designs, tests, develops, manages, and executes complex data
pipelines, reports, and data visualizations for internal operations
and external client-facing tools. Strategizes, assesses, and
resolves issues, providing counsel and advice as required.
- Leads and executes projects with minimal supervision,
demonstrating strong project management and organizational
skills.
- Collaborates closely with business stakeholders to understand
their data needs and translate them into effective solutions.
- Builds strong relationships with team members through clear
communication, fostering a collaborative and high-performing
environment.
- Creates standardized tasks and adheres to company task
management processes within project management tools.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of data
governance policies, standards, and best practices.
- Leads projects aimed at improving department processes and
efficiency.
- Communicates complex technical concepts effectively to both
technical and non-technical audiences, including through
presentations and data visualizations.
- Serves as an SME or content owner for multiple
department-specific topics, providing guidance and training to team
members.
- Mentors junior team members, fostering their development and
ensuring alignment with team objectives.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and
implement process improvements.
- Stays updated on industry trends and engages in continuous
learning to enhance technical skills.
- Maintains or exceeds department-established performance
standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering,
or related field, or equivalent work experience. Highly specialized
knowledge of computer systems or software, with the ability to
design, develop, analyze, create, test, and modify systems or
programs.
- Over 5+ years of experience in data analytics or related roles,
including at least 2 years of highly relevant experience.
- Proven expertise in analyzing data and metrics to develop
clear, effective solutions.
- Expert proficiency in SQL and Python (or similar
languages).
- Deep expertise in data transformation tools like dbt and cloud
platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data
modeling techniques.
- Experience with data version control tools (e.g., Git) and
Agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal
skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking
skills.
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic, passion for data, and
commitment to continuous learning.
- Good understanding of department practices, procedures, and
functions. Applies independent judgment in methods and techniques
for project solutions.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of
successful initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Sheets, or
similar software.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple
priorities.
- Proven ability to mentor and train team members.Competitive
Compensation depending on Experience: $130,000-$140,000.
