Job Description:

Alstom Transportation is seeking an Overhaul Manager for their project location in Oceanside, CA. This is a full time, on-site opportunity responsible for overseeing all aspects of the overhaul of COASTER bi-level coach cars and cab cars including planning, scheduling and directing the activities of a 12 person crew. Because this is located on the Camp Pendleton Marine Corp base, all candidates must be able to pass a military level background check.


Responsibilities:


Lead, direct, organize and oversee the overhaul staff working within the Stuart Mesa Maintenance Facility regarding the COASTER bi-level overhauls have the necessary tools and direction to deliver the expected results.

Ensure all work is performed in full compliance of State and Federal regulations.

Ensure staff adheres to proper work processes, procedures, production plans and established safety practices.

Confirm all overhaul activities and materials are being entered into Maximo, that the requirements defined in the scope of work for the overhaul are being adhered to and that all maintenance documentation is being handled and stored as required by regulation, contract or Alstom policy.

Conduct random and planned safety inspections of the workplace to ensure a safe work environment.

Work closely with the vendors, contractors and QA/QC in executing approved plans, processes and procedures to ensure the finished product meets contractual and performance requirements.

Participate in the selection, training and progress evaluations of new personnel to ensure they meet expectation and remain competent.

Ensure employees under area of responsibility perform in accordance with established company policies and contractual obligations and that matters which may not be consistent with Company policy are acted upon immediately.

Work with materials department to coordinate scheduled delivery of materials and services to meet the production schedule and keep the overhaul program on schedule.


Requirements:


High School Diploma is required (technical school or college graduate is a plus)

5+ years of experience maintenance management experience.

Preferred experience within the transportation industry (rail, aviation, fleet management) but manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience would work.

Experience in rebuilding, repair, and replacement of components.

Knowledge of mechanical,electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Knowledge and skills in the use of mechanical and electrical tools and equipment.

Computer skills including the use if Microsoft Office and data entry and use of in work order systems such as Maximo is required.

Experience in both A/C and D/C electrical systems and welding, grinding or metal cutting is preferred.

Must have your reliable transportation in order to get to work on Camp Pendleton Marine Corp Base.

Strong skills with written and verbal communication.

Strong reasoning, team building and leadership skills.
