about your success.Position OverviewA Speech-Language Pathologist
(SLP) is a licensed healthcare professional specializing in
diagnosing, assessing, and treating communication and swallowing
disorders. SLPs work with individuals across the lifespan, from
infants to older adults, addressing challenges that can arise from
developmental delays, neurological conditions, injuries, or
illnesses.Key Responsibilities:The Speech Pathologist will
regularly evaluate, diagnose, and treat students with speech or
language disorders, formulate individualized treatment programs,
keep appropriate records, and inform faculty and parents about
students' progress on a regular basis.Assesses the needs of pupils
and matches them with programs available through the educational
system.Discusses with faculty members their evaluations of
students' skills as demonstrated in class performance and social
interaction with other students.Suggests activities parents can do
with their child to assist and supplement the student's speech
therapy program.Attempts to add to their understanding of the
program and answers questions and addresses concerns they may have
about it.Talks with students to determine their feelings about the
program or any frustrations they may feel about the therapy.Keeps
current with professional literature and attends seminars on a
regular basis to maintain and update professional
skills.Qualifications and Requirements:EDUCATION:Master's degree in
speech pathology is REQUIREDPassing the Praxis exam, and completing
your clinical fellowship, you'll apply for the Certificate of
Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
(CCC-SLP).EXPERIENCE:A minimum of two years of experience working
in the speech pathology field is PREFERRED.With Skilled Nursing
Experience is PREFERREDLICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: California license
to practice Speech Pathologist is REQUIREDWe provide equal
