Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Oceanside, California
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Director of Payroll
Compensation: $22-27 Per Hour
Responsible for processing Payroll transactions and facilitating
timely payment for all company employees.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Entry of hours and payment requests submitted via email from Field
Managers in the Kronos and Workday systems
Research and resolve various employee payroll issues via email and
Process daily payroll check runs and issue final checks according
to state laws
Review and process employee garnishment and wage attachments,
including communications with employees, vendors, and agencies
Previous experience in working in an in-house payroll
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Bi-lingual in Spanish (written and verbal) to effectively
communicate with employees
Able to work effectively within a team-oriented environment
Provides employee and Field Manager support and training assistance
for various payroll related tasks via email and telephone
Able to deal well with ambiguity and assess requests independently
to determine a best course of action, including when to escalate an
issue to Management team
Is communicative and responsive to the business needs of their team
members, employees, and Field Managers
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills And Competencies
Functional working knowledge of the Kronos Timekeeping System.
Functional working knowledge of the Workday HRIS and Payroll
platform or a similar in-house payroll processing system.
Working knowledge of current State and Federal laws relating to
termination, garnishment, and minimum wage requirements.
Ability to work in fast paced, team-oriented environment to meet
deadlines with accuracy
Ability to manage and participate in cross-functional relationships
with empathy and a focus on customer service.
Must have high integrity and excellent discretion as this position
has access to highly confidential, sensitive information relating
to employees, customers, and technologies.
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and
Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks with a
sense of urgency.
Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as
well as part of a team.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or
employees of organization.
Proficient in MS Office tools Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Proficient in Ten Key
Ability to independently prioritize projects and tasks daily to
Strong planning and organizational skills
Detail-oriented, but able to grasp big-picture concepts
Ability to follow the appropriate safety precautions
Comfortable communication with all levels of management and
Maintain strictest confidentiality and demonstrate
3+ years' experience in high volume Payroll/Accounting related
Experience with union and prevailing wage payroll processing a
plus, but not required.
High school diploma/GED required; Associates degree preferred
Regular weekly schedule with the possibility of overtime if needed;
weekend shifts available; work weekend or holidays as needed
Travel: Not required
