Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Category Director
to lead sourcing initiatives for our Software as a Service (SaaS)
portfolio. This role will be responsible for developing and
executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and
driving cost optimization and innovation across the SaaS landscape.
The Category Director will also oversee a small team of Strategic
Sourcing professionals focused on cloud-based software solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop and implement the
procurement strategy to provide resources on time, minimizing risk
to customers and ensuring optimum price. - Develop and maintain
category plans that identify opportunities for operational
efficiencies, drive cost savings, manage risk, improve safety,
drive innovation, and ensure the continuous development of
categories managed. - Direct a team of Procurement professionals
and managers. Assume complete responsibility for all activities and
processes associated with the categories assigned. - Identify
potential improvement opportunities using procurement reporting and
analysis of management information. - Identify innovative
procurement solutions that provide cashable savings and process
efficiencies for the organization. - Address vendor issues to
ensure the highest level of service delivery. - Enhance contractual
and business relationships with vendors. - Manage the company’s
acquisition strategies by completing the due diligence and
integration activities for the spend categories. - Facilitate
implementation of procurement change initiatives within the
category to improve business performance. - Establish best
procurement practices to lead and manage procurement teams. -
Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply
markets, competitors, and product innovations. - Develop and
implement procurement strategies to ensure timely access to SaaS
resources, minimize risk, and optimize cost and value - Analyze
procurement data and market intelligence to identify improvement
opportunities and inform strategic decisions · Drive procurement
transformation initiatives to enhance business performance and
stakeholder alignment. · Establish and promote best practices in
SaaS procurement and vendor management. · Stay current on SaaS
industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics to
inform sourcing decisions. · Collaborate with internal stakeholders
including IT, Finance, Legal, and business units to understand
requirements and align sourcing strategies. · Lead end-to-end
sourcing events including RFPs, RFIs, and vendor evaluations for
SaaS solutions. · Negotiate complex agreements including SLAs,
subscription models, renewal terms, and performance metrics. ·
Drive cost savings initiatives while managing risk, compliance, and
service quality across the SaaS supplier base. Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in relevant field of study. -10 years of
relevant professional experience required. - Bachelor’s degree in
Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or related field.
-10 years of strategic sourcing or category management experience,
with at least 3 years focused on SaaS procurement. -Track record of
successfully leading a high-performing team. - Deep understanding
of SaaS platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, Microsoft
365, etc.) and cloud-based software delivery models. - Proven
success with sourcing initiatives and delivering measurable value.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, business acumen, and project
management skills. - Experience working in a matrixed organization.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. -
Strong leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills. - Global
procurement experience is a plus. - Ability to travel frequently,
based on the business need. - Equipment is provided except for cell
phone/internet Preferred Skills · Familiarity with SaaS licensing
models, renewals, and usage optimization. · Experience with
procurement tools (e.g., Ariba, Coupa) and contract lifecycle
management systems. · Knowledge of regulatory and compliance

based on various factors including but not limited to job location,
a candidates education, training, experience, expected quality and
quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and
internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as
well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component
of Maximuss total compensation package. Other rewards may include
short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.
Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees,

Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be
commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An
applicants salary history will not be used in determining
compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage

Minimum Salary $ 138,380.00 Maximum Salary $ 187,200.00
