Position Summary:

Assures that department office management functions are performed accurately and completely. Responds to straightforward Service Desk calls and work orders in a timely manner, and routes complex Service Desk calls or work orders to appropriate technical staff. Assures that communications with customers concerning work orders, problem reports, emergency requests and computer operations are clear, concise, complete and accurate.


Major Position Responsibilities:

 The position characteristics reflect the most important duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job in a fully competent manner.   • Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
  • Provides departmental administrative support for functions such as coordinating and organizing meetings, maintaining departmental appointment schedules, desktop publishing, supply ordering, accounting report production, account reconciliation, and maintaining key departmental files.
  • Using word processing, database and spreadsheet expertise, completes special projects as needed.
  • Works collaboratively with other Customer Support team members to deliver excellent customer service in solving Client systems problems expeditiously. Responds to straightforward Service Desk calls and work orders in a timely manner, and routes complex Service Desk calls or work orders to appropriate technical staff. Follows up with customers to assure that service meets expectations, and documents problems and solutions.
  • Conducts customer surveys to assure that the Customer Support is providing excellent customer service in response to work orders, problem reports, and emergency requests. Provides regular reports to the Supervisor, Customer Support.  
  • Participates in creating an effective multidisciplinary approach to meeting Information Technology challenges.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of process improvement projects, ensuring the continued delivery of quality products and services.
  • Performs additional duties to assist the organization in maximizing the use of its resources.


  • 3 years of increasingly responsible experience as an administrative assistant, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Proven, demonstrable expertise in using MS Word, MS Excel, and other MS Office products, and excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with diverse groups of people, required.


  • Associates degree, required.
