TrueCareJob Title: Medical Assistant - BilingualLocation: Oceanside/Loma AltaMonday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. (Saturday rotations)Pay starting at $23.00 per hour! We'd love to hear from you!Essential Functions Interview patients to obtain medical information and confirm purpose of visit.Copy immunization cards of all new children or, if none available in chart, of established patients.Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms stocked, neat and clean.Sterilize instruments following sterilization guidelines and maintain accurate logs.Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; and taking blood pressure, height, weight, and temperature.Record patients' medical history, vital signs and information such as test results in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.Assist medical staff in examining and treating patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections and removing sutures.Perform various laboratory procedures to include urine analysis, cultures, immunization, Hgb, lead levels and EKGs.Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.Perform respiratory treatments, injections, and immunizations according to TrueCare protocols or standing orders.Change dressings on wounds.Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records.Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients.Discharge patients from visit per patient discharge protocols.Schedule appointments for patients, as needed.Refer calls to medical staff when appropriate for emergency or medical questions. Job Requirements High school diploma, GED or equivalent Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.Knowledge of medical terminology, medical laboratory procedures and healthcare operations and workflow.Bilingual in English and Spanish (may be required at some clinics).Nice to Have Associate degree in Healthcare related courses.Bilingual in English and Spanish (may be required at some clinics).At least one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience.Six (6) months experience with documentation in an EHR system.Phlebotomy training. Licenses May be required to float and/or travel between all TrueCare sites and locations therefore CA Driver's License and clean driving record required.
