Job Title: Benefits Analyst

Department: Human Resources

Location: Oceanside, CA or Remote

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Reports to: Senior Director Benefits

Status: Full-time

Compensation: $65-72K Salary

Position Summary

Responsible for the management and administration of benefits and retirement programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability and 401(k). Ensures benefit administration complies with applicable laws and policies. Serves as the escalation point of contact for employee inquiries and issues. Works on projects and maintains data accuracy in benefit related systems.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serves as escalation point for Tier 2 Employee benefit inquiries and backup for Tier 1 inquiries
  • Manages benefit vendor relationships and weekly vendor integrations
  • Completes the annual Open Enrollment and acquisition enrollment processes of providing census information, reviewing communication updates, testing HRIS system setup, responding to employee inquiries
  • Manages ACA compliance including approving eligibility, submitting APTC notices, initiating enrollment event in HRIS system, approving annual 1095-c forms
  • Manages 401(k) plan for corporate divisions, including eligibility, loan requests, hardship withdrawals, QDRO approvals, weekly reconciliation and funding, employee inquiries, annual audit and form 5500 review
  • Resolves employee vacation and sick plan issues regarding eligibility and balances
  • Performs system testing of benefit process improvements and new plan setup
  • Identifies and leads process improvement and SOP documentation activities within Benefits

    Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

    • Knowledge of benefit program design including medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, STD and LTD
    • Working knowledge of laws, compliance and related reporting including: COBRA, FMLA, ACA and HIPPA
    • Benefits administration

      • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish

          Experience Required

          Educational Qualifications/Job Experience Requirements
          • 3-5 years prior benefit or HR administration experience
          • Workday experience preferred
          • Equifax (Kronos) experience preferred
            • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent combo of education and experience
            • CEBS certification preferred

                Physical Requirements
