A senior material handler (forklift operator) needs to load or unload trucks to supply production areas with product or remove finished goods to a warehouse storage area. Material handler may be moving frames, panels, and glass. Responsible for inspecting and maintaining your forklift before and during use. Must feel comfortable driving a forklift in a busy and congested environment. A flexible schedule and OT are major requirements of this position.

Role and Responsibilities

* Work with production lines in offloading finished product and staging glass
* Follow all safety procedures when operating the forklift
* Communicate needed overtime with you manager on a frequent basis
* Always maintain a clean and orderly forklift, completing forklift inspections
* Drive a flatbed truck at times in and out of the building
* Load finished product into racks
* Offload trailers with materials and handle packing slip appropriately
* Suggest and implement cost-saving ideas, lean principles.
* Load finished product onto trailers
* Able to work overtime on a frequent basis if needed

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

* Must pass the JELD-WEN Forklift Test both written and hands on.
* Prefer two (2) + years' experience in forklift operations but it is not required.

Preferred Skills

* Must be computer literate.
* Must be able to learn standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word etc., in addition to industry specific platforms used in day-to-day operations.

Expected pay for this role is between $23.45 to $25.92 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
