Job Description:
Company Overview: Terray Therapeutics is a venture-backed
biotechnology company led by pioneers and long-time leaders in
artificial intelligence, synthetic chemistry, automation, and
nanotechnology. We’re generating chemical data purpose-built to
propel drug discovery into the information age — and we’re doing it
on a larger scale and faster than has ever before been possible.
Our closed loop system generates precise chemical datasets at
unrivaled scale that work seamlessly with AI to systematically map
biochemical interactions between small molecules and causes of
disease. Iterative cycles of virtual molecular design and
experimentation power AI and machine learning models, which in turn
guide the next cycle of design. With a chemistry engine that
measures billions of interactions daily and becomes increasingly
precise with every cycle, we can answer an unprecedented array of
questions — deriving insights that enable us to predictably create
drugs for patients in need. Position Summary: Terray Therapeutics
is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and experienced
immunologist to join our Translational Biology team. In this role,
the candidate will play a pivotal role in exploring the mechanisms
of action of novel small molecule inhibitors for immune modulation,
and in supporting translational efforts from preclinical
development to early clinical stages. The position will report to
the Director of Translational Biology. The core responsibilities of
this position are: Cell-based assay mechanistic studies Review the
literature to gain a comprehensive understanding of therapeutic
targets of interest Develop and optimize cell-based assays to
support lead candidate selection and/or broader understanding of
the therapeutic potential of small molecule inhibitors Design and
execute studies to elucidate the mechanism of action of novel small
molecule inhibitors Disease-relevant mechanistic studies Design and
establish disease relevant assays to provide supporting data for
different therapeutic indications and/or rodent models of diseases
Support in vivo pharmacology efforts with ex vivo studies
associated with PK-PD or disease models Biomarker assay development
Identify and develop biomarker assays for early clinical trials
Facilitate the transfer of biomarker assays to CRO for phase 1
studies Data analysis and collaboration Analyze and interpret
experimental data, and communicate results in our project team
meetings Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including
chemistry, platform, screening and data teams to efficiently move
projects forward Lab support Assist in evaluating and setting up
new lab instrumentation Contribute to the organization and
maintenance of lab equipment as needed Experience and
Qualifications: Part of Terray’s success is nurtured by a hands-on
work environment where everyone is accountable, vested in a vision
of excellence, and actively taking part in the success of the
business. Terray supports a positive work environment where
employees can feel engaged, recognized and empowered to be
creative. Required Qualifications: PhD with 5 years of
academic/industry research experience in immunology,
immuno-oncology, or a related field In-depth knowledge of
autoimmune and inflammatory disease models is highly desirable
Background in small molecule drug discovery strongly preferred
Proficiency in standard immunological assays (primary cell
isolation and culture, flow cytometry, cytokine detection and gene
expression analysis) Extensive hands-on experience with
western-blotting, immunoprecipitation and similar protein sciences
techniques Experience with screening small molecules in medium
through-put cell-based assays and small molecule mechanism of
action studies ideas Experience with molecular biology techniques
and cell line construction Excellent organizational, interpersonal
and communication skills and can thrive in a highly collaborative
research environment Demonstrated technical proficiency, ability to
troubleshoot to solve problems and to deliver high quality data
Compensation Details: $104,000-$156,000 (annually) depending on
seniority; participation in the Company's option plan; 3%
retirement safe harbor contribution; fully-paid medical, dental,
